A few years ago, the Korean carmaker amazed the automotive world with the all-new three-row SUV called Palisade. Just a year later, it has brought a new range-topping version called Calligraphy. This version is characterized by several exclusive details, whether it’s about styling or interior design. On the other hand, the list of standard equipment is pretty much the same as in the Limited model. This year’s version continues in the same way and the 2022 Hyundai Palisade Calligraphy will once again offer plenty of luxury for a pretty affordable price.

So, you may count on the same SUV as in the previous year, which has a lot of great things to offer. Besides Palisade’s typical qualities, such as spacious cabin and comfortable ride, this version also offers plenty of exclusive details and a higher level of luxury.

As there are no notable changes for the 2022 model year, the price remains pretty similar as well.

2022 Hyundai Palisade Calligraphy Design

Design-wise, the 2022 Hyundai Palisade Calligraphy heavily relies on the standard model. It offers the same overall layout, which offers reliable and proven mechanics, in a combination with refined suspension setup. The ride quality is really good, and it is mostly about comfort. Those who are looking for a more athletic SUV with a similar level of luxury should probably consider models like Mazda CX-9.

What’s really special about Calligraphy is the number of exclusive features it offers. Compared to standard versions, it comes with a couple of quite distinctive visual upgrades. One of the first things you’ll notice is a new grille pattern, as well as new 20-inch wheels. On the rear end, taillights feature a little bit different design, while there is also a massive brake light on the tailgate.

There is also one exclusive color option for this version, called Typhoon Silver. Other 2022 Hyundai Palisade Calligraphy colors in the offer are Sierra Burgundy, Hyper White, Steel Graphite, Rainforest, and Becketts Black.

Interior

Just like the exterior, the 2022 Hyundai Palisade Calligraphy interior also comes with a number of unique features. While the overall layout is the same, there are also exclusive things like a perforated leather steering wheel and a microfiber suede headliner. Also, you may count on quilted-leather door panels, as well as on a cargo sill protection plate.

When it comes to interior color schemes, the Calligraphy comes with either beige or black Nappa leather. The actual offer depends on exterior colors. While most of them can be coupled with either of these two, Typhoon Silver and Rainforest come exclusively in a combination with black Nappa leather.

On the other hand, the overall cabin layout is the same as in other versions of the Palisade. You may count on the same level of interior space and overall practicality, which is pretty impressive. This SUV comes with three very spacious rows of seats, while the cargo area is as impressive. In numbers, you may count on about 18 cubic feet of space behind its third-row seats, 45.8 cubic feet with these seats folded, and a total capacity of 86.4 cubic feet.

Features

As you may presume, this version comes with a full load of standard equipment. Still, keep in mind that things aren’t much different than the Limited trim level in this aspect. Compared to more basic versions of the SUV, this version comes with a lot of exclusive features. Some of the highlights are things like dual sunroofs, a hands-free power liftgate, Nappa leather upholstery, a power-adjustable passenger seat, ventilated front seats, heated and ventilated second-row seats, a heated steering wheel, a digital gauge cluster, an intercom, front parking sensors, a head-up display, a surround-view parking camera system, a 10.25-inch touch screen, navigation, wireless device charging, satellite radio, and a 12-speaker Harman Kardon audio system.

2022 Hyundai Palisade Calligraphy Engines

Under the hood, there are no surprises. The next year’s model will carry on with a familiar 3.8-liter V6, which features a max output of 291 horsepower. The engine comes in pair with an 8-speed automatic transmission, which works pretty well too. The whole system offers a high dose of refinement, while the overall performance is quite satisfying too.

Standard models come with front-wheel drive, while the 2022 Hyundai Palisade Calligraphy AWD will be offered too, equipped with the company’s well-known HTRAC system.

When it comes to fuel economy, FWD models return around 19 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the highway, which is typical for the class. On the other hand, models with AWD system are slightly thirstier and return around 19 mpg in the city and 24 mpg on the highway.

2022 Hyundai Palisade Calligraphy Price and Competition

The 2022 Hyundai Palisade Calligraphy price starts at around 48.000 dollars. This version competes with more luxurious versions of mainstream rivals like Mazda CX-9 but could be also considered as a competitor of entry-level versions of premium mid-size crossovers, such as Acura MDX, Volvo XC90 etc.
