Some time ago, a decline in minivan sales was so big that Nissan was forced to discontinue Quest after 24 years of production. That happened in 2017 and five years later, we can hear rumors about its comeback. Most rivals survived, including models from Japanese rival companies, such as Honda Odyssey and Toyota Sienna. For that reason, Nissan’s management allegedly believes that there is room for another model in the segment today, on the revived 2024 Nissan Quest. Despite the loud rumors, officials are still quiet.
In any case, this comeback would bring a similar design approach to the previous generation. Of course, everything would be packed with new technologies and features, which would make this minivan more competitive than ever. This includes the powertrain as well, which could easily come electrified, whether in a hybrid form or fully electric.
If we can trust rumors, the new model could arrive already in the second half of the next year, as the 2024 Nissan Quest.
2024 Nissan Quest Design
When it comes to the overall design approach, we wouldn’t expect to see any surprises. Instead, we would expect to see a familiar minivan layout, though packed with all kinds of modern features and design solutions. So, we may presume that the new model would ride on the latest version of the well-known D platform, which underpins the new Pathfinder. We presume that the three-row SUV would be one of Quest’s closest relatives, especially in terms of mechanics.
On the other hand, we count on a completely new exterior design. Despite that the overall shape probably wouldn’t change much, we presume that the new generation would feature slightly bigger dimensions, including a longer wheelbase. In terms of the styling, we presume that the new model would be adapted to the brand’s latest design language, with similarly designed headlights to the aforementioned SUV and other new models in the lineup.
Interior
The new cabin is another thing to expect from the 2024 Nissan Quest. When it comes to the new dashboard design, we presume that some inspiration might be taken from the Pathfinder, in terms of the overall shape and materials. Also, we have no doubt that the new cabin would feature better build quality than before, and that it would come equipped with all kinds of advanced tech and convenience features.
Speaking of the tech features, we count on a new infotainment system, massive screens, digital instrument cluster, new connectivity features etc. In terms of passenger space, we count on a familiar configuration, with three rows of spacious and comfortable seats. Considering that the wheelbase will probably be longer, we would expect to see more legroom too, as well as a more spacious cargo area.
2024 Nissan Quest Enignes
At this point, details about the powertrain are still unavailable and if we are about to make some predictions, we should consider various options. First of all, there is the most conservative variant of the minivan, which would be powered by a classic V6 engine. That model would probably come with a familiar 3.5-liter engine that puts out 284 horsepower and comes with a new transmission.
Since we live in the era of electrification, a hybrid version makes perfect sense. Many sources suggest the implementation of the company’s new e-Power system, which works on a little bit different principle compared to classic hybrids. In this case, wheels are powered by electric motors, while the gasoline engine works as a generator.
Finally, we won’t exclude the possibility to see an all-electric version at some point in the future.
