Although the current generation of Porsche’s mid-size crossover has been around for about five years, it is still one of the best models in this highly competitive segment. However, the company management feels that it’s time for updates and therefore, the 2024 Porsche Cayenne is about to bring some novelties. We expect to see a typical mid-cycle refresh, which will bring mostly visual changes, but which should also bring some power upgrades in certain versions. Furthermore, interior updates are also possible.
Despite the updates, the overall design will remain the same. Therefore, we count on an SUV that has a lot of great things to offer, starting from exceptional athleticism and some really capable powertrain options. At the same time, this is a luxurious and well-equipped vehicle, with one of the nicest cabins in the class. Considering the updates, we expect to see a little bit earlier launch date, but still within the second half of 2023.
2024 Porsche Cayenne Design
The 2024 Porsche Cayenne is about to receive a mid-cycle refresh. We are pretty sure that the focus will be on aesthetic updates. We expect to see a typical facelift, with various styling updates. The test mule has already been spotted and despite the camouflage, some changes can be seen through it.
Naturally, most of the changes will happen at the front. From what we can see, the new model will get a bigger grille, along with a redesigned bumper and new headlights, which will feature a new shape and a more upright stance. Changes are also expected on the rear end of the vehicle. We could see some tweaks to taillights, as well as in areas like the rear bumper and exhaust. Finally, count on things like new color options, new wheel designs etc.
On the other hand, the mechanical aspect of the vehicle will probably remain unchanged. This means that you may count on an amazing level of athleticism, which can only be matched by the Maserati Levante and high-performance variants of BMW X5. At the same time, the ride is smooth and quite comfortable.
Interior
At this point, it is still early to talk about interior changes. Some of them may happen, but we can’t tell what kinds of changes could occur. Still, we are pretty sure that these modifications would be rather subtle, considering that the current model already looks pretty impressive from the inside. It features an attractive, performance-accentuate cabin with sports seats, nice materials and a pretty simplistic dashboard design, which combines digital and physical controls in a pretty nice fashion.
Besides excellent build quality, the 2024 Porsche Cayenne will also offer plenty of passenger space. Both rows are pretty generous with passenger room and accommodate adults with ease. Also, the front seats are some of the best in the class, with excellent support, great driving position and ergonomics.
When it comes to cargo capacity, you may count on about 27 cubic feet behind the second row and 60 cubic feet of the total cargo volume, which is about average for the segment.
2024 Porsche Cayenne Engines
The powertrain lineup should remain the same but the latest reports suggest that some units are about to get more power. This particularly refers to the 2.9-liter twin-turbo V6, as well as to the 4.0-liter twin-turbo V6.
In any case, base models will continue with a 3.0-liter V6, which puts out around 335 horsepower. The aforementioned Cayenne S with a 2.9-liter V6 might get a power increase. The current version is good for about 434 horsepower.
The Cayenne GTS is the most affordable version with the V8 engine and it features a max output of 453 horsepower. The Cayenne Turbo features a more powerful version of this engine, with a max output of 541 horsepower. Finally, the most powerful version of this engine is reserved for the Cayenne Turbo GT, with a max output of 631 horsepower.
2024 Porsche Cayenne Hybrid
We also expect two hybrid versions to carry on in the same way. The first one is called E-Hybrid and it comes with a system based on the 3.0-liter V6 engine. The combined output goes around 455 horsepower.
The second version is called Turbo S E-Hybrid and it is based on a 4.0-liter V8 engine. The combined output goes around 670 horsepower.
Both units come with a 17.9-kWh battery pack, which provides 16 and 14 miles of range in the EV mode, respectively.
2024 Porsche Cayenne Release Date and Price
We expect that the 2024 Porsche Cayenne will hit the market sometime in the second half of 2023, with a starting price of around 70.000 dollars. Hybrid models should be available at around 85.000 dollars.
