2023 Porsche Cayenne Is Getting Mid-Cycle Updates

1658 0

It’s been two decades since Porsche introduced its first SUV. Since then, the Cayenne became one of the most important models for the brand, with pretty good sales numbers. The current generation has been around since 2018 and despite it still looks quite fresh and competitive, the company feels it’s the right time to make some changes. Therefore, the 2023 Porsche Cayenne is receiving a facelift. At this point, we know for sure it will come with new exterior details, as well as some pretty big interior updates. On the other hand, details about the powertrain are still unknown.

In any case, these updates won’t change the overall design of the car and the next year’s model will continue with familiar pros and cons. It will continue to offer outstanding handling, along with several pretty capable engine options. Furthermore, this SUV offers a high-quality interior, with some of the nicest seats in the class. On the other hand, most engines are very thirsty, the cargo area is small, and the starting price is high.

2023 Porsche Cayenne Design

As we’ve just mentioned, the 2023 Porsche Cayenne is about to receive a facelift. From what we know so fore, some of the biggest changes will come to the exterior. The test mule has already been spotted and we can see a slightly revised front end, with new air intakes, a more sculpted hood and new LED headlights. The rear end remains mostly the same, though there is a new light bar that spreads across the whole tailgate and connects the taillights. Of course, we also expect to see typical mid-cycle updates, such as new wheels, color options etc.

On the other hand, the mechanical aspect of the vehicle probably won’t change. This means that you may count on the same suspension setup, which provides the level of athleticism that’s unattainable for pretty much every mid-size SUV on the market. At the same time, the ride is comfortable and decently smooth on pawn roads.

Interior

Big novelties are coming to the inside as well. From what we can see in spy photos, the dashboard is coming with notable revisions. First of all, there is a new instrument cluster, completely digital this time, without analog elements. Furthermore, there is a new infotainment screen, with the latest infotainment system. Some sources also suggest revisions to the center console, which would include the new shifter as well.

On the other hand, the rest of the cabin will remain the same. This SUV features pretty impressively overall build quality, while the seats are among the best in class. Both rows are very generous with space and accommodate adults with ease. On the other hand, the cargo area offers around 27.2 cubic feet of space behind the rear seats and 60.3 cubic feet of the total cargo volume, which is actually pretty decent for the segment.

Features

We have no doubt that the 2023 Porsche Cayenne will bring some interesting novelties in terms of standard and available equipment. Still, keep in mind that the current model is already equipped very well, so it’s hard to expect some significant updates in this aspect.

For reference, the 2022 model comes standard with goodies like dual-zone climate control, a 12.3-inch touch screen, navigation, a 10-speaker HiFi stereo, satellite radio, HD Radio, USB ports, Bluetooth, a Wi-Fi hot spot, Android Auto, and wireless Apple CarPlay. Also, there are available features like a panoramic sunroof, quad-zone climate control, a 14-speaker Bose stereo, a 21-speaker Burmester stereo, wireless device charging, and a rear-seat entertainment system.

The same is with safety features. Currently, all models come standard with goodies like a rearview camera, parking sensors, forward collision warning and automatic emergency braking, while the list of available features is very long and includes all kinds of stuff.

2023 Porsche Cayenne Engines

Although the officials are still quiet about the powertrain, we expect that the 2023 Porsche Cayenne will carry one with the same options on the offer. Therefore, base versions should continue with a 3.0-liter V6 that puts out 335 horsepower. Of course, the Cayenne S will continue with Porsches super-capable 2.9-liter twin-turbo V6, which puts out 434 horsepower.

The V8 lineup includes three versions of the 4.0-liter unit. The first one is reserved for the GTS and features a max output of 454 horsepower. The Cayenne Turbo features an upgraded version of this engine, with 542 horsepower. Finally, there is the Turbo GT, introduced last year, which features a max output of 631 horsepower and needs just 3.1 seconds to hit 60 mph.

2023 Porsche Cayenne Release Date and Price

We expect to see the 2023 Porsche Cayenne on sale in the last quarter of the year, with a starting price of around 71.000 dollars. Key competitors are models like BMW X5, Mercedes-Benz GLE, Maserati Levante etc.
