Buick’s largest SUV will get a full redesign in the near future but the latest reports suggest that won’t happen before the 2025 model year, which clearly indicates that the 2024 Buick Enclave is going to be the last production year of the current generation. Therefore, we don’t expect to see bigger changes. Instead, this should be a typical carryover model, with the same design and features. Of course, we won’t exclude the possibility of seeing minor tweaks, such as new color options or some new pieces of standard equipment.
Still, the vast majority of things will remain the same. You may count on the same pros and cons of this model, which has been well-known for its spacious and comfortable cabin, which perfectly works in a combination with soft suspension setup. The infotainment system is easy to use, while the cargo area is spacious, which all makes this SUV a great family hauler.
Despite the lack of changes, the 2024 Buick Enclave will come a little bit earlier than usual.
2024 Buick Enclave Design
So, the 2024 Buick Enclave will most likely represent the final production year of the current generation and, therefore, it’s hard to believe that the company could introduce more important changes. Instead, we expect to see the same overall design, which has been around since 2018. Still, it’s good to mention that the model received a mid-cycle refresh for 2022, which include changes both outside and inside the vehicle, along with new tech features. The Enclave still looks pretty nice and competitive, despite the age.
Mechanically, things haven’t changed at all since the initial launch. This model rides on GM’s familiar C1 platform, and shares most of the parts with models like Chevy Traverse and GMC Acadia. What we really like about it is the soft suspension setup, which ensures a smooth and comfortable ride. On the other hand, the trade-off comes in the form of the lack of athleticism, so more enthusiastic buyers usually go for something else, for models like the Mazda CX-9, or even entry-level premium models like Acura MDX.
Interior
Buick is a brand with luxury aspiration and therefore, it’s usually a little bit more expensive than its rivals. Does that price difference brings enough luxury upgrades on the inside, it’s hard to say but we can say that the current cabin looks nice and that utilizes nice materials and decent build quality. All that is complemented by a good portion of tech features, including a pretty intuitive and easy-to-use infotainment system.
We can argue about Enclave’s interior quality but no one can deny that the amount of passenger space is impressive. With almost 121 inches in wheelbase, it’s not a surprise that all three rows are comfortable, while the cargo area is among the biggest in class. In numbers, that would be 23.6 cubic feet of space behind the third row, 57.7 cubic feet behind the second row and 97.4 cubic feet in total.
Features
Although it’s always possible to see some novelties, we are pretty sure that most things will remain the same as in the current model. Therefore, base models should come standard with goodies like an 8-inch touch screen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless device charging, a Wi-Fi hot spot, satellite radio, HD Radio, Bluetooth, a six-speaker audio system and six USB ports. The list of standard features should also include tri-zone automatic climate control, a universal garage door opener, proximity keyless entry, push-button start and remote start.
As for the upgrades, expect to see higher trim levels equipped with navigation, a 120-volt household-style power outlet, a Bose 10-speaker premium audio system, an 8-inch digital gauge cluster and a panoramic moonroof.
2024 Buick Enclave Engine
Things under the hood definitely won’t change and the 2024 Buick Enclave will continue with the good-old naturally-aspirated V6. Of course, we are talking about a 3.6-liter engine, which puts out around 310 horsepower. That’s enough power for decent driving dynamics, while the 9-speed automatic gearbox works well in combination with this powertrain.
As mentioned, standard models feature front-wheel drive, which isn’t the most exciting choice. Still, driving engagement gets a little bit better with the optional all-wheel drive. All-wheel-drive models are also better for towing, as the max capacity goes up to 5.000 pounds.
When it comes to fuel economy, FWD models are good for about 18 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the highway, which is typical for the class. AWD models are, of course, slightly thirstier.
2024 Buick Enclave Release Date and Price
Although with no bigger changes to come, the 2024 Buick Enclave will still arrive a little bit earlier than usual. According to the latest reports, that could happen already by the end of this summer. In terms of price, we expect base models to go around 46.000 dollars.
I am presently driving my 5th Enclave. These vehicles do way better on gas mileage than advertised. I’ve gotten as high 38+ on several trips, but 36 is nothing. I drive 68 -72 mph and it doesn’t matter if the a/c.
My 2022 Enclave gets 18 city, 30 hwy. This is a true statement, no fudging.
