The new generation of Range Rover’s most practical SUV is here. With all the novelties that have been presented, it looks like the new model will be more competitive than ever. The company introduced a new design, more elegant than before, along with the new cabin, which looks more luxurious than ever. Finally, there is a range of new powertrain options, where most of them are electrified. However, we are still waiting for the flagship version, which should arrive by the end of this year, as the 2023 Range Rover Sport SVR.
This model will be a performance-oriented version of the vehicle and we count on all kinds of upgrades. Of course, the engine is the first thing that comes to mind and we know what to expect in that aspect. Other than the powertrain, we expect to see suspension upgrades, along with some exclusive styling details. As we are talking about the new flagship model, there is no doubt that the list of standard equipment will be very long.
2023 Range Rover Sport SVR Design
Design-wise, the 2023 Range Rover Sport SVR won’t be much different compared to standard models. The base design will be the same, so you may count on a design that’s now based on the new MLA-Flex architecture. Compared to the previous generation, the new RR Sport is lighter, but also brings a longer wheelbase, which is now good for 118 inches. Of course, there is the new styling, which brings evolutionary changes and makes this SUV look more elegant than before.
When it comes to the 2023 Range Rover Sport SVR exclusive features, we expect to see all kinds of them. Of course, we will see a range of exclusive styling details, but we also count on some mechanical upgrades, especially in terms of suspension and brakes. More precise details are yet to be announced.
Interior
When it comes to interior design, we don’t expect to see significant changes. The 2023 Range Rover Sport SVR should feature the same cabin layout, characterized by an even more elegant look. The new dashboard continues in a familiar manner but comes with even finer materials and more attention to detail. Also, it’s extremely hard not to notice the massive tablet-like infotainment screen, as well as the elegantly designed center console that still keeps a decent number of physical controls.
When it comes to seating configuration, we expect that base versions will come with five seats. However, the third row could be offered as an option and we believe it will be more spacious than the one in the previous generation, due to the longer wheelbase. We also expect more room in the cargo area.
2023 Range Rover Sport SVR Engine
Of course, one of the most interesting parts of the 2023 Range Rover Sport SVR will be the engine. This time, Land Rover will use BMW’s well-known N63 engine. We are talking about the familiar 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8, which is already used in the First Edition trim, with a max output of 523 horsepower.
In the case of SVR, we count on even more power. We presume this version would use the same version of the engine as the X5 M, with over 600 horsepower. Of course, the engine will come paired with an 8-speed ZF automatic transmission.
Other than BMW’s N63 engine, the new generation of RR Sport will be offered in a variety of electrified versions. Most of them will be based on the new inline-six, which will come with a mild-hybrid 48V system, in two output variants, with either 355 or 395 horsepower. Also, the same engine serves as the basis for the new plug-in hybrid system with 434 horsepower.
Features
As we are talking about the new flagship model, there is no doubt that the list of standard equipment will be very long. We count on things like two-tone leather upholstery, 22-way power-adjustable front seats, as well as heated, cooled and ventilated seats. Furthermore, we count on the new 13.1-inch curved infotainment screen, along with the 13.7-inch digital instrument cluster. The list of standard equipment should also include goodies like wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless charging, a 29-speaker premium audio system and many more.
The list of safety features should be pretty long as well. Some of the things we expect to see are goodies like automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control and many more.
2023 Range Rover Sport SVR Release Date and Price
We expect that the 2023 Range Rover Sport SVR will arrive by the end of this year. At this point, it’s still early to talk about the exact price but if we consider that the P530 First Edition will cost nearly 123.000 dollars, this version will certainly cost much more than that.
