The popular compact crossover has just been redesigned but it looks like we could see more novelties in the near future. Allegedly, the 2024 Nissan Rogue is about to bring a new, hybrid powertrain option. The officials are still quiet but rumors suggest that the Japanese company is about to bring the ePower hybrid system to North America. That system already powers the Rogue’s European twin, X-Trail, so such a scenario seems very likely.
The new powertrain would certainly attract new customers but on the other hand, the rest of the design shouldn’t bring more notable changes. We expect to see a familiar layout, which has so many great things to offer. The Rogue is spacious and comfortable, with one of the nicest cabins in the class. The offer of safety features is impressive, while the new turbo three-cylinder engine also ensures pretty impressive fuel economy.
Considering the possible powertrain update, we presume that the 2024 Nissan Rogue could arrive a little bit earlier than usual, though still within the second half of the year.
2024 Nissan Rogue Design
While the powertrain update seems quite likely, we don’t believe that the overall design could change. We count on the same layout, which was introduced last year and is based on the updated CMF architecture. We like the soft and comfortable suspension setup, while the steering feels way more precise compared to the previous generation.
Just like the mechanics, the aesthetics should also remain unchanged. We count on the same styling, which features the latest iteration of the company’s V-motion grille design, which looks more modern and more elegant than before. Still, we won’t exclude the possibility to see minor tweaks, such as new color options, or maybe even a new appearance package.
Interior
As we’ve just mentioned, the Rogue features one of the nicest cabins in the class, so we are pretty sure that the 2024 Nissan Rogue interior won’t feature any bigger change. We expect to see the same layout, which combines elegant dashboard design with really nice materials, as well as with a long list of tech and convenience features. All in all, there aren’t many rivals that can match this cabin in terms of luxury.
Besides the elegant design, this cabin also offers a high level of comfort. Traditionally, Nissan offers some of the best front seats in the class, with great comfort and excellent support. The second row is also very generous with space and accommodates adults with ease.
When it comes to the cargo area, this model offers up to 36.5 cubic feet behind the second row and 74.1 cubic feet in total, which is less than the new CR-V offers, but still above average for a compact SUV.
Features
Additions to the list of standard equipment are always possible, so the 2024 Nissan Rogue might come with some of them as well. Still, we don’t expect significant changes compared to the current model. For reference, the current model comes standard with goodies like an 8-inch touch screen, wired Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto, a four-speaker stereo, satellite radio, Bluetooth, and two USB ports.
The list of available upgrades includes wireless Apple CarPlay, Amazon Alexa Auto, a six-speaker stereo, two rear-seat USB ports, a Wi-Fi hot spot, a 9-inch touch screen, a 10-speaker Bose audio system and navigation, as well as a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, dual-zone automatic climate control, proximity keyless entry, remote start, push-button start, adaptive cruise control and a panoramic moonroof. We presume some of these options could become part of the standard equipment.
When it comes to safety, the current model comes standard with goodies like a rearview camera, rear parking sensors, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning, driver-attention monitoring etc.
2024 Nissan Rogue Engine
As we already mentioned, one of the possible updates for the 2024 Nissan Rogue is to see a hybrid version. In that case, we presume we would see the same ePower system from the X-Trail, which offers a total output of 213 horsepower. The catch with this hybrid system is that the wheels get power from the electric motor, while the gasoline engine works as a generator and feeds the battery. In practice, this means that the driving experience is pretty much the same as in the case of an EV.
On the other hand, base models should carry on with a 1.5-liter turbo three-cylinder engine that puts out around 201 horsepower and offers excellent fuel economy, which goes around 30 mpg in the city and 37 mpg on the highway.
2024 Nissan Rogue Release Date and Price
We expect to see the 2024 Nissan Rogue sometime in the second half of the year, with a starting price of around 28.000 dollars. Key competitors are models like Subaru Forester, Toyota RAV4, Honda CR-V etc.
