2024 Jeep Wrangler Preview, Changes, Specs, Features

945 0

The current generation of the legendary off-roader has been around since 2018 and despite the recent revival of Bronco, it didn’t get any updates. From what we know so far, the 2024 Jeep Wrangler won’t get updates either, apart from the anticipated all-electric version, which could be a completely different vehicle. Therefore, we count on a familiar design, with familiar specs and features, though with the possible addition of minor updates.

In any case, the next year’s Wrangler will continue to deliver what it does best. This SUV offers excellent off-road performance, along with legendary styling and a decent interior. There are two body styles on offer and a variety of powertrain options, including a hybrid, as well as a monstrous HEMI V8.

Considering that no bigger changes are expected for the next year, we presume that the 2024 Jeep Wrangler will hit the market sometime in the last quarter of the year.

2024 Jeep Wrangler Design

As we’ve just mentioned, the next year’s Wrangler probably won’t get any bigger updates. Instead, we expect to see a familiar design, with familiar features. This SUV will continue with a well-known styling, though we won’t exclude the possibility of seeing new color options, or maybe some appearance package or special edition. In any case, you may count on two familiar body styles – two-door Sport and four-door Unlimited.

The mechanical aspect will also remain untouched, so you may count on an SUV with solid axles, which isn’t the most refined solution in terms of comfort but on the other hand, it ensures exceptional off-road performance. Speaking of off-road performance, all models come with four-wheel drive, while the most capable variants like Rubicon come with full-time 4×4, locking differentials, disconnecting stabilizer bar, all-terrain tires and many more.

Interior

On the inside, the current-generation Wrangler looks surprisingly elegant and refined. Of course, the dashboard looks bold and truck-like, but it also comes with lots of tech features and gauges, while the materials are pretty fine. All these things help Wrangler’s cabin look really modern.

As mentioned, there are two body styles on offer, starting from the two-door Sport. Due to the very short wheelbase, this model puts focus on off-road performance, while the cabin doesn’t offer too much space in the second row of seats. Moreover, the cargo area is also very small, with just 12.9 cubic feet behind the second row and 31.7 cubic feet of the total volume

Thanks to a significantly longer wheelbase, the four-door Unlimited offers way more passenger space and accommodates up to five adults with ease. Moreover, the cargo area is also very generous, offering around 32 cubic feet behind the second row and 74 cubic feet of the total cargo volume.

Features

This is where we could see some novelties for the next year, though we are pretty sure most things are about to remain the same. Therefore, base models should carry on with goodies like a 7-inch touch screen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, an eight-speaker stereo, Bluetooth, two USB ports, air conditioning, push-button start and manual roll-up windows and door locks.

Among available upgrades, expect to find goodies like an 8.4-inch touchscreen, navigation, a Wi-Fi hot spot, HD Radio, satellite radio, a nine-speaker stereo, automatic climate control, power windows and door locks, keyless entry and remote start.

When it comes to safety features, base models currently come only with a rearview camera, but there is a good number of available options, such as rear parking sensors, forward-facing cameras, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, automatic high beams etc.

2024 Jeep Wrangler Engines

One of the best things about this off-roader is its generous list of powertrain options. Base models come with a good-old 3.6-liter V6, which puts out around 285 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque. Among options, you can find a 2.0-liter turbo-four, which puts out 270 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque.

If you prefer something with way more low-end torque, there is a 3.0-liter V6 Turbodiesel, which is good for about 260 horsepower and 440 pound-feet of torque. The recently introduced plug-in hybrid combines the turbo-four engine with a single electric motor, for a total output of 375 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque. Also, you may count on up to 21 miles of EV range with this version.

Finally, there is the Rubicon 392, equipped with a 6.4-liter HEMI V8 engine, which puts out 475 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque.

All models come with an 8-speed automatic transmission, though the base V6 is also available with a 6-speed manual.

2024 Jeep Wrangler Release Date and Price

We expect that the 2024 Jeep Wrangler will arrive sometime in the last quarter of the year, with a starting price of around 30.000 dollars for the two-door model, and 34.500 dollars for the four-door versions. Models like Ford Bronco and Toyota 4Runner will remain key competitors.
