1307 0

From today’s perspective, we can say that Jeep engineers did a great job with the new Grand Cherokee. The new generation looks great and, more importantly, it sells extremely well. Still, there is one thing we are all missing – the high-performance Trackhawk trim. This version has been powered with a monstrous 700-hp supercharged V8 so far, but those days are gone. Does it mean that this trim level is also gone? Not if you as the latest reports, which suggest a comeback in a little bit different form, with a little bit different powertrain, most likely electrified. So, let’s check what we can expect from the 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk:

2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk Design

Logically, the new version of this high-performance model would be based on the new generation of the popular mid-size SUV. The styling would be based on the brand’s latest design language, but filled with a good portion of unique styling details.

The Trackhawk would sport a distinctive front fascia, characterized by a unique grille design. The grille may feature a blacked-out or dark chrome finish, giving it a more aggressive and sporty appearance compared to the standard Grand Cherokee grille. The same is with the front bumper of the Trackhawk which used to incorporate larger air intakes and additional cooling vents to support better airflow to the high-performance engine. These enlarged openings not only add to the sporty look but also serve a functional purpose in maintaining optimal engine temperature during spirited driving. Many more exclusive styling details characterized the previous generation, such as a unique hood, alloy wheels, body kit, numerous “Trackhawk” badges around the vehicle and a unique exhaust system.

Mechanical Upgrades

The Trackhawk has always been much more than a fancy-looking Grand Cherokee. It was always full of performance upgrades and we have no doubt that things would be even better in this case, considering all the benefits that come with a way more engaging Giorgio platform.

Of course, some of the key upgrades would be in terms of suspension and brakes. To complement its powerful engine and AWD system, the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk would receive a performance-tuned suspension setup. The suspension is often sportier and more responsive than the standard Grand Cherokee’s to improve handling and cornering capabilities. This enhances the Trackhawk’s agility and allows it to take on corners with confidence, even at high speeds.

Given the higher speeds and performance capabilities of the Trackhawk, it would come equipped with high-performance brakes. These brakes would be larger and more powerful than those found on the standard Grand Cherokee. They would provide exceptional stopping power and improved fade resistance during intense driving situations, such as track sessions or spirited driving on challenging roads.

Interior

Despite its performance-oriented focus, the 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk would maintain a luxurious and comfortable interior. The cabin would feature premium materials, including high-quality leather upholstery and trim.  Still, the overall layout wouldn’t be much different, other than more standard equipment.

As we’ve just mentioned, the Trackhawk is also about luxury, so count on a full load of standard tech and convenience features.

2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk Engine

We have finally come to the most interesting aspect of the 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk. Sadly, the supercharged V8 is gone it won’t come back. Instead, we will see something smaller and more efficient. We are pretty sure it won’t sound as good, but it may offer as much power as the Hellcat.

The first engine that comes to mind is the new 3.0-liter turbo inline-six Hurricane. Still, with its 510 horsepower, it is no match for the Hellcat’s 707 horsepower, so the thing that comes to mind is the electrification of this engine. We presume we would see a plug-in hybrid setup, based on this inline-six and with the help of the electric motor, it could offer similar combined output. But, on the other hand, such a combination could easily offer more torque than the old V8, which would also play an important role in the overall performance.

2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk Release Date and Price

We presume that the 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk could arrive already in the next year. As for the price, we are pretty sure it would be notably more expensive than the old model, which indicates that six figures are pretty much a certain thing.
