The segment of full-size SUVs consists of several capable models and at the top of that list, you will find the Suburban. The legendary nameplate has been around for almost a century and it still represents Chevy’s design approach that combines practicality, capability and performance. The current generation has been around for just less than two years, so we are pretty sure that the 2023 Chevy Suburban, which will represent the third production year, won’ feature any notable changes.
Of course, tweaks in terms of standard equipment and new color options are always possible but the overall layout will certainly remain the same. You may count on an SUV that has so many great things to offer, starting from the impressive amount of cargo space. The passenger space is as impressive, while we also like the long list of standard equipment, along with the wide powertrain offer.
As there are no big changes to come, we presume that the 2023 Chevy Suburban will hit the market sometime in the last quarter of the year.
2023 Chevy Suburban Design
This aspect of the vehicle definitely won’t change. The Suburban will continue with the familiar layout, which was introduced for the 2021 model year. It is based on the company’s new T1 platform and shares a lot of parts with the current-generation Silverado. This includes the design language as well, so it’s no wonder that the front end looks pretty similar to the one found in the popular pickup truck.
The Suburban has always been a practical SUV, but it can also be pretty capable off the road. Of course, all models are available with 4WD, while the Z71 trim includes a lot of additional off-road hardware. You may count on things like a two-speed transfer case, a limited-slip differential, all-terrain tires, a skid plate, and tow hooks.
Interior
Once again, we expect to see no bigger changes. The 2023 Chevy Suburban should carry on with the same cabin design, though it’s always possible to see minor tweaks regarding new materials, color schemes etc. Still, the overall layout will remain the same, which isn’t an issue at all. Simply, this cabin looks very nice and features pretty good overall quality. Also, the sound insulation is pretty good.
Still, the biggest strength of this SUV is the amount of space. It comes with three rows of seats and if we consider that it features 134 inches in wheelbase, it’s easy to conclude that there is plenty of room in all three rows. Even the third row accommodates adults with ease.
The cargo area is a special story. In this aspect, the Suburban is a class leader, along with the corporal twin, the Yukon XL. You may count on 41.5 cubic feet of space behind the third-row seats, 93.8 cubic feet with these seats folded, and tremendous 144.7 cubes of the total cargo volume.
Features
Every model year brings a couple of new things and the 2023 Suburban probably won’t be an exception. Still, we are pretty sure that most of the things are about to remain the same. Therefore, all models should come standard with goodies like tri-zone climate control, keyless entry, a 10.2-inch touch screen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluetooth, eight USB ports, HD Radio, satellite radio, a six-speaker stereo, and a Wi-Fi hot spot. Additionally, you can get upgrades like a panoramic sunroof, a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, navigation, nine- and 10-speaker stereos, and a rear-seat entertainment system with two 12.6-inch touch screens.
When it comes to safety, all models will come standard with goodies like a rearview camera, parking sensors, forward collision warning, pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning lane keep assist, automatic high beams etc. Among options, expect to find adaptive cruise control, head-up display, surround-view camera, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert etc.
2023 Chevy Suburban Engines
We expect that the 2023 Chevy Suburban will continue with three familiar engine options on the offer. Base models should carry on with a familiar 5.3-liter V8, which features a max output of 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque. For those who are looking for something peppier, there is a 6.2-liter V8, which is good for about 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque.
Finally, there is a diesel option, which is a great alternative for those who care about fuel economy. This one comes with a 3.0-liter inline-six, with a max output of 277 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque.
All three engines come in pair with a 10-speed automatic transmission.
2023 Chevy Suburban Release Date and Price
Considering that the 2023 Chevy Suburban probably won’t feature bigger changes, we presume it will hit the market sometime in the last quarter of the year. The starting price shouldn’t change significantly either. So, base models should go around 54.000 dollars. Key competitors are Ford Expedition, GMC Yukon XL, Toyota Sequoia etc.
