This year has brought a completely new design of Lexus’s full-size SUV, after so many years of waiting. After 14 years, this model was finally redesigned and the new generation has brought so many interesting upgrades. The new model is more capable, more efficient, and more luxurious. However, that doesn’t mean that the next year’s model won’t bring more novelties. Of course, we won’t see the V8-powered 2023 Lexus LX 570, but rather a more efficient V6. Some sources also speculate about the hybrid version, while an off-road version is also expected.
In any case, the next year’s model will continue to deliver familiar design and features. This SUV combines strong off-road performances with a smooth ride and a high level of reliability. Furthermore, we really like its interior design and the new infotainment system. On the other hand, things like tight third row and small cargo area will remain the main drawbacks.
We expect that the new model will hit the market sometime late in the year.
2023 Lexus LX 570 Design
As we’ve just mentioned, this will be the second production year, so most of the things are about to remain the same. The recent redesign brought a lot of novelties, starting from the new TNGA-F platform. This architecture significantly improved ride quality, while the new model is also lighter and more efficient.
For the second production year, it is expected that the Japanese manufacturer will bring a new, off-road-oriented version. Allegedly, this model will feature all kinds of upgrades, starting from three locking differentials – front, center and rear. Of course, we count on further suspension upgrades, as well as on other pieces of off-road hardware. This version may also come with a couple of unique aesthetical details but the overall styling will remain the same. Naturally, there is always room for minor updates, such as new color options and similar things.
2023 Lexus LX 570 Engine
Instead of the V8-equipped 2023 Lexus LX 570, we will see the LX 600 once again. The good-old V8 was replaced with a smaller and more efficient V6 engine. We are talking about a 3.4-liter twin-turbo V6, which puts out around 409 horsepower and 479 pound-feet of torque. The engine comes in pair with a new 10-speed automatic transmission, which does a fantastic job.
The new V6 engine is more capable and more efficient than its predecessor but it looks like the Japanese manufacturer could introduce another powertrain option to the offer. Of course, we are talking about a hybrid powertrain. Without any doubt, that model would feature the same system as the new Toyota Sequoia, a system that’s based on a V6 engine, with a combined output of 437 horsepower and 583 pound-feet of torque.
Interior
Things on the inside definitely won’t change. We are about to see the same layout, which looks notably better compared to the previous generation. Typically for Lexus, the build quality is excellent, while the materials are super-fine. Furthermore, we really like the aesthetics, as well as the attention to detail. Older generations will certainly appreciate that the cabin isn’t overwhelmed with screens. Still, that doesn’t mean that the new LX lacks any modern features. Moreover, it is one of the best equipped models in the class.
The new generation hasn’t brought bigger changes in terms of size. So, the amount of interior space is pretty similar as well. Base models come with a couple of quite spacious and comfortable rows of seats, while the optional third row is tight and works best for kids. The cargo area offers around 46 cubic feet behind the second row and 71 cubic feet of the overall cargo volume in the two-row model. On the other hand, the three-row model is good for about 11 cubic feet of space behind the third-row seats, 44 cubic feet behind the second row and 64 cubic feet of the total cargo volume.
Features
We don’t expect bigger changes in this aspect. Therefore, base models should come with goodies like 12.3-inch and 7-inch touch screens, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a Wi-Fi hot spot, a 10-speaker premium stereo, Bluetooth, four USB ports, satellite radio, wireless device charging, navigation, an 8-inch digital instrument cluster display, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, a universal garage door opener, and a moonroof. Among options, you can find goodies like a center-console cooler, ambient lighting, two additional USB ports, a 25-speaker Mark Levinson surround-sound stereo, rear wireless device charging, and a rear-seat entertainment system with two 11.4-inch displays.
2023 Lexus LX 570 Release Date and Price
Instead f the 2023 Lexus LX 570, we will see the LX600, which will hit the market sometime late in the year. We expect that the base price will go around 88.000 dollars. When it comes to competition, key competitors should be models like Range Rover, Mercedes-Benz G-Class, Lincoln Navigator etc.
