2023 Lincoln Navigator Preview: No Bigger Changes To Come

1829 0

The current generation of Lincoln’s flagship SUV has been around for a while and after the recent update, we presume it will remain in production for some more time. Therefore, we expect that the 2023 Lincoln Navigator will carry on without more important changes. We expect to see a familiar layout, with all the novelties that were introduced with the 2022 model year, which made this SUV even better. Still, we wouldn’t exclude the possibility to see minor updates, such as new color options, more standard features and similar things.

All in all, we are about to see a familiar design, which still has a lot of things to show. We like the elegant exterior design, along with the stylish interior, which combines classic lines with modern tech features. The ride is quiet and comfortable, while the twin-turbo V6 seems quite competent.

Considering all this, we are pretty sure that the 2023 Lincoln Navigator will come sometime in the last quarter of the last year.

2023 Lincoln Navigator Design

This aspect of the 2023 Lincoln Navigator definitely won’t bring changes. We are about to see a familiar layout, which has a lot in common with the Ford Expedition. Of course, the Navigator is way more refined in nearly every aspect. That’s particularly easy to notice in terms of the ride quality. This SUV offers a very smooth ride, perfect for cruising but also with a decent level of athleticism, considering the size and weight of this SUV.

Styling-wise, it will continue with all the novelties that were introduced with the recent update. This particularly refers to the front end, which has brought things like a new grille design, new headlights etc. The rest of the vehicle will also continue in the same way, though we won’t exclude the possibility to see a new color option and appearance package on the offer.

Interior

The recent update has brought a new, bigger infotainment screen, which definitely made a big impact on the dashboard appeal. The rest of the dash remained the same and that’s not an issue at all. Moreover, the materials are pretty impressive, as well as attention to detail. The overall build quality is on par with other full-size luxury SUVs, including the recently redesigned Escalade.

Besides great build quality, this cabin also offers a high level of refinement and excellent comfort. The sound insulation is great, while all three rows offer enough space to accommodate adults. The front seats are massive and supportive, while the driving position is excellent.

The cargo area also offers a lot of space. You may count on about 20.9 cubic feet of space behind the third row and 63.6 cubic feet behind the second row and 103 cubic feet of the total cargo space. The stretched version, known as the Navigator L, offers even more. It is good for about 36 cubic feet of space with all the seats up, 79.6 cubic feet behind the second row, and 120.2 cubic feet of the total cargo volume. That’s impressive, though the new Escalade offers even more.

Features

Once again, we don’t expect to see significant changes. The next year’s model should carry on in the same way, with standard features like a 13.2-inch infotainment screen, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, digital instrument cluster, 14-speaker audio system, heated and ventilated first- and second-row seats, power-adjustable front seats, power-folding second- and third-row seats etc.

Higher trim levels should come with upgrades like a panoramic sunroof, 24-way power-adjustable seats, 30-way power-adjustable seats, upgraded leather upholstery, ActiveGlide semi-autonomous driving system, head-up display, 28-speaker audio system and more.

2023 Lincoln Navigator Engines

Under the hood, the 2023 Lincoln Navigator will continue with the well-known 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6, which features a max output of 440 horsepower and 510 pound-feet of torque. That’s more than enough to ensure a confident ride. Moreover, driving dynamics are pretty impressive, considering the model’s size. Furthermore, you may count on the max towing capacity of 8.700 pounds, which is one of the highest ratings in the class.

The engine comes in pair with a 10-speed automatic transmission, which is smooth and refined. It doesn’t hesitate to shift and generally does a pretty good job. Base models feature rear-wheel drive, while AWD layout is available too. When it comes to fuel economy, you may count on about 16 mpg in the city and 22 mpg on the highway, which is pretty good for the class.

2023 Lincoln Navigator Release Date and Price

Considering that no significant changes are expected, we believe that the 2023 Lincoln Navigator will hit the market sometime in the last quarter of the year. We expect a starting price of around 78.000 dollars. Models like Cadillac Escalade, Jeep Grand Wagoneer and Mercedes-Benz GLS will remain some of the key competitors.
