2023 Lexus LM 7-Seater Minivan: US availability?

Minivans have a great tradition in North America and even today, in the era of SUVs, they make solid sales numbers. However, they have always been considered mainstream vehicles, designed to be classic people haulers. In some other parts of the world, particularly Asia, they can also be pretty luxurious and the biggest proof is that even the Lexus badge is used in certain parts of the world. So, it’s no wonder that some sources suggest that Toyota’s premium division could offer it in North America as well, as the 2023 Lexus LM 7, for example.

Namely, the LM is a revised version of Toyota Alhard, which is also a luxury minivan available in the domestic market. The Lexus version is used in other Asian markets and it comes as a luxurious three-row van with a premium interior and pretty capable powertrain options. So, it would definitely be a great addition to the company’s lineup in North America.

2023 Lexus LM 7 Design

So, the 2023 Lexus LM 7 could arrive in North America, according to rumors. If that happens, we presume that no bigger modifications would be made and that the overall design wouldn’t be much different. This model was introduced in 2020 and it still looks pretty fresh, featuring the brand’s contemporary design language.

When it comes to mechanics, this van is heavily based on the Toyota Alphard. It features the same size and pretty much the same overall shape, and it is also based on the previous-generation MC platform. Still, this particular version comes with a more refined suspension and chassis setup, which ensures much even better ride quality, with excellent absorption of road imperfections and super-smooth manners.

Interior

When it comes to the 2023 Lexus LM 7 interior, this minivan shows typical Lexus nature, with the excellent build quality. The materials are super-fine, the dashboard looks attractive, and the attention to detail is excellent. Also, there are numerous tech features, including a massive infotainment screen on the center stack, various connectivity features etc.

When it comes to seating configuration, this minivan comes with a couple of seats in each row. In other words, the second-row captain’s chairs are standard, so the seating capacity of six is what you may count. Still, we wouldn’t be surprised to see a 7-seat version on offer as well. In any case, the seats are beautifully shaped and offer excellent comfort.

2023 Lexus LM 7 Engines

When it comes to powertrain, there are two possibilities for the 2023 Lexus LM 7 in the US market. Of course, one of them would be a hybrid powertrain and in that case, we would see a familiar setup, based on a 2.5-liter inline-four engine. Of course, we are talking about the same system that powers models like RAV4, so the max output would probably go around 220 horsepower.

We also believe that this minivan could come with a V6 engine. Of course, that would be the company’s good-old 3.5-liter unit, with around 295 horsepower. Alternatively, the company might offer a new turbo four, with a max output of around 275 horsepower and 317 pound-feet of torque.

When it comes to transmission, the hybrid would, of course, use Toyota’s e-CVT, while the V6/turbo-four would come in a combination with an 8-speed automatic.

2023 Lexus LM 7 Release Date and Competition

The 2023 Lexus LM 7 in North America is just a rumor for not. So, even though some sources suggest we could see it by the end of this year, make sure not to take this for granted. If it arrives, it won’t have direct competitors. Instead, it would compete with flagship variants of models like Chrysler Pacifica, Honda Odyssey etc.
