Although overshadowed by passenger cars, the electrification of commercial vehicles is actually way more important for the environment and it is currently on a swing. Of course, Stellantis follows this trend and tends to electrify its commercial lineup as much as possible. The all-electric Fiat Ducato was electrified last year, so it’s now turn for its North American iteration to do the same. According to the latest reports, the 2024 RAM ProMaster 1500 Electric Van will arrive later this year.
At this point, we are still waiting for the details but some things are pretty easy to predict, especially when it comes to the drivetrain, which should be shared with Fiat’s counterpart. The rest of the van shouldn’t change much and should benefit from the last year’s refresh.
2024 RAM ProMaster 1500 Electric Van Drivetrain
Of course, the most interesting part of the 2024 RAM ProMaster 1500 Electric Van will be its all-electric setup. The current, gasoline-powered model comes with a pretty capable 3.6-liter V6 that puts out 280 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque and offers very good performance.
On the other hand, the all-electric version will be more about efficiency than performance. Therefore, we will probably see the same setup as in the all-electric Ducato, which isn’t particularly powerful. That system consists of a single electric motor, which puts out just 122 horsepower and 207 pound-feet of torque.
As you may presume, that’s not enough for the level of performance you’ve used to get from the V6 but on the other hand, you may expect a pretty impressive level of efficiency. We presume that the ProMaster 1500 Electric Van will come with a bigger battery, which is good for about 79kWh, which provides around 230 miles on a single charge in urban conditions. That’s quite impressive for a vehicle of this size. Also, the company claims that 62 miles of range can be added in just 30 minutes.
Furthermore, there are two new modes that turn on automatically. One of them is called Turtle Mode and it works in the same way as a battery saver on a mobile phone. It gets activated when the battery is low and limits performance, making the battery last up to 10% longer. The other one is called Recovery Mode and ensures that the battery module that doesn’t work gets replaced with the working one.
2024 RAM ProMaster 1500 Electric Van Design
Other than the drivetrain, the 2024 RAM ProMaster 1500 Electric Van shouldn’t look much different compared to the standard model. So, we expect to see the same overall design, which has been updated last year, just like the Mercedes Vito was.. There is the new front face, more modern and more attractive.
What we aren’t still sure about is the exact version of the van that could come with the all-electric powertrain. The gasoline-powered model comes in three variants on offer, regarding wheelbase, though we rather believe that the all-electric model would come in just one of them.
Interior
The interior design is expected to follow the same path as well. So, the dashboard would continue with the recent updates, which include the new infotainment screen, among other amenities. Furthermore, the all-electric version would probably get a new instrument cluster that would be adapted to the all-electric setup.
Details about the cargo size and capacity will be known once we find out which version will get an all-electric setup. On the other hand, we know for sure that the cargo area won’t be compromised in any way, considering that the battery will be installed under the floor.

We presume that the RAM ProMaster 1500 Electric Van could arrive later this year. The officials are yet to announce its launch.
