One of the most interesting things about today’s automotive industry is that every segment is competitive. Medium-duty vans are no exception, so even these vehicles are getting more frequent updates than before. One of them will be the 2023 Mercedes-Benz Vito, which will receive another facelift. Now it looks like the German manufacturer is working on another update, for the 2023 model year.
The test mule has already been spotted on the road and it wears a bit of camouflage. From what we can see, the next year’s model will bring novelties on both ends of the car, while some sources also suggest interior updates. On the other hand, the mechanical aspect is expected to remain the same.
2023 Mercedes-Benz Vito Design
As we’ve just mentioned, the 2023 Mercedes-Benz Vito is expected to bring some interesting updates. It looks like we are about to see another facelift, with a number of visual changes. The test mule has already been spotted on the road and it still wears camouflage in certain areas. This clearly indicates where we are about to see changes. We presume that the next year’s model will get a new grille design, new headlight internals, and a new bumper. The rear should also come with some novelties, in areas like taillights, rear bumper, etc.
Despite the updates, the overall layout is about to remain the same. This refers both to mechanics, as well as overall design characteristics. Therefore, the 2023 Mercedes-Benz Vito will continue in familiar variants, either as a cargo van or a people carrier.
Interior
At this point, details about the interior are still unknown but it looks like we could see some updates in this aspect as well. It is still early details but it looks like we are about to see some new tech features, including the new MBUX infotainment system, with the new, larger screen. The dashboard could be upgraded with new, round air vents, as well as things like nicer materials, new color schemes etc.
As we already mentioned, the overall layout will remain the same and the current generation should remain active for a few more years. Therefore, we don’t expect bigger changes regarding configurations, whether it’s about the passenger or cargo version.
2023 Mercedes-Benz Vito Engines
The engine lineup shouldn’t bring any notable changes. In most markets, this mid-size van relies on diesel units. The two most common options are 1.7-liter and 2.0-liter units. The former is designed by Renault and offers a max output of 130 horsepower and 320 Nm of torque. The bigger 2.0-liter unit puts out around 150 horsepower.
There is also an all-electric version, known as the eVito. This one uses a single 200-hp electric motor, which also offers 362 Nm of max torque. The electric motor is paired with a 90-kWh battery, which provides up to 420 kilometers on a single charge. The top speed is 160km/h.
The North American version uses a 2.0-liter turbo-four engine, which features a max output of 208 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. This engine comes coupled with a 7-speed automatic transmission.
2023 Mercedes-Benz Vito Release Date and Competition
We expect that the 2023 Mercedes-Benz Vito will arrive in the first half of 2023. The competition will remain the same, Volkswagen Transporter, Ford Transit etc.
