Over the years of production, the Tahoe proved itself an excellent choice for all those who want to mix a classic SUV design with the ability to haul up to 8 people. Simply, there aren’t many SUVs in this class with such a generous amount of passenger and cargo space that also offer the level of rigidity you would expect from a full-size SUV. The 2024 Chevy Tahoe won’t be any different. Moreover, it could become even better, considering that there are some pretty interesting updates to come.
Namely, the 2024 Chevy Tahoe will get a mid-cycle refresh and from what we know so far, the focus will be on aesthetics. The test mule has already been spotted and it wears a lot of camouflage. Also, some sources speculate about potential interior updates, while the powertrain lineup is probably about to remain the same.
Considering the updates, the next year’s model might arrive a little bit earlier than usual, though we don’t believe it could hit the market before the next fall.
2024 Chevy Tahoe Design
So, the 2024 Chevy Tahoe will get a mid-cycle refresh. The test mule has already been spotted on the road and from what we can see, there will be a lot of aesthetic updates. Namely, there is a pretty big amount of camouflage, on both ends of the vehicle. We presume that the front end might come with a new grille, headlights, bumper etc.- all in accordance with the brand’s latest design language, established by the freshest version of Silverado. The rear end looks like it’s about to bring a lot of novelties as well. We presume it could come with new taillights, tailgate, bumper, exhaust pipes and many more. The test mule has also been spotted with massive 24-inch wheels, which could be offered as an option in the range-topping models.
On the other hand, we don’t believe that this update could bring bigger changes in terms of mechanics. Instead, we expect to see the same setup, which includes standard independent rear suspension, which has a highly positive effect on ride quality. Higher trim levels offer an even higher level of comfort, with the optional air suspension.
Interior
When it comes to interior design, the current model is great in most aspects. However, we can hear a few complaints here and there, about the materials in certain areas. So, if the 2024 Chevy Tahoe interior is about to bring some novelties, that would probably be in terms of new materials and similar things. On the other hand, the overall cabin layout should remain the same.
This means that you may count on a well-designed cabin, which offers three very generous rows of seats. Even the third row is spacious enough to accommodate adults pretty easily, while the cargo area is among the biggest in the class. In numbers, that would be 25.5 cubic feet of room behind the third row, 72.6 cubic feet behind the second row and 122.9 cubic feet in total.
Features
We have no doubt that the next year’s model will also bring some novelties in terms of new standards and available equipment. We presume that some of the current options could become part of the standard equipment but still, most things should remain the same.
For reference, the current model comes standard with goodies like an 8-inch touch screen, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a Wi-Fi hotspot, satellite radio, Bluetooth, voice recognition, a six-speaker audio system and six USB ports, as well as tri-zone automatic climate control, two 120-volt household-style power outlets, remote start and proximity keyless entry.
Among upgrades, you can currently find things like a 10.2-inch touch screen, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, navigation, wireless device charging, a second-row entertainment system, a nine-speaker Bose audio system, a 10-speaker Bose surround-sound audio system, a panoramic sunroof, a universal garage door opener and an auto-dimming rearview mirror. We presume some of these options could become part of the standard equipment.
2024 Chevy Tahoe Engines
The powertrain lineup will most likely remain the same. So, you may count on three familiar powertrain options, starting from a 5.3-liter V8, which puts out around 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque. For those who look for something peppier, there is a good-old 6.2-liter V8, which is good for about 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque.
Both these engines are capable, but also very thirsty. Therefore, you may consider a diesel version, equipped with a 277-hp 3.0-liter inline-six turbodiesel. With 460 pound-feet of torque, this engine moves Tahoe with ease, while the best thing about it is the excellent fuel economy, which goes around 21 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway.
2024 Chevy Tahoe Release Date and Price
The 2024 Chevy Tahoe should hit the market next fall, with a starting price of around 57.000 dollars. Of course, models like Ford Expedition and Jeep Wagoneer will remain some of the key competitors.
I waited almost 2 years to get my 2023 Z 71 Tahoe ( I ordered it May 2021). The Google map it comes with has almost zero contrast between the roads or their names. The dealer there is nothing they can do about it. Oh and the “free” Google map in the Tahoe is only for 30 days, then you get to pay Google for some extra package. The old On-Star map was much easier to read. Even my passenger has difficulty reading this Google map thing. I hope the 2024 Tahoe doesn’t have that Google map.
