Multiple sources reported that the hybrid engine is coming for the next-gen model. It is happening already this year, but the vehicle will debut as the 2025 Hyundai Palisade Hybrid. We’ll see what the Korean company is cooking. They surprised fans and experts when the standard SUV debuted with an all-new V6 powertrain. We know about a hybrid, but there are no official details about specs and mileage.
The 2025 Hyundai Palisade Hybrid will carry over the styling of the base version. Again, there are no too many details about the redesign and the next-gen model. The SUV might be longer, around 200 inches of overall length. That will bring more legroom in the third row. Nevertheless, the main question is – can the Palisade be competitive in the three-row hybrid SUV market? Hyundai will take the challenge.
2025 Hyundai Palisade Hybrid Powertrain
The company is not unveiling plans for the engine room of the new Palisade. The next-gen SUV could also feature another petrol powerplant. Outside the US, you will find it with a diesel motor. The 2025 Hyundai Palisade Hybrid system could be powered by the existing V6. Seeing other SUVs with similar configurations, a hybrid setup gives a small boost to the gas mileage and power output. In such a situation, the Palisade could do 310-330 hp and return around 25 mpg combined. Not enough! Why? Toyota Highlander Hybrid can do 35 mpg.
That is why experts talk about a four-cylinder plant for a hybrid SUV. Engineers could sacrifice power to gain more miles. For example, a turbocharged four-cylinder unit can deliver 281 hp. Electric motor can help it get more power. The gas mileage depends on the overall weight. Palisade is significantly bigger than the Santa Cruz truck, where the engine returns 20/27 mpg.
2025 Hyundai Palisade Hybrid Release Date
The next-gen model is on the way. The carmaker will brag about it when the time is right and the big SUV is in the final phases of development. Since there is no news yet, the debut will probably happen closer to the end of 2024. One of the reasons why you should wait for the next-gen SUV is a hybrid engine. The Palisade debuted in the mid-size three-row market with success and now it is time for upgrades.
Redesign and Interior Accessories
Since the new generation is on the way, the 2025 Palisade will be refreshed, outside and inside.
