The Korean luxury carmaker is expanding its lineup at a pretty rapid speed. We’ve already seen a couple of crossovers, as well as a complete lineup of premium sedans. However, we are still waiting for a full-size SUV and according to the latest reports, that model will come in the next year, as the 2024 Genesis GV90. The new model has been officially confirmed and we expect to see its premiere in the near future.
What’s interesting about this model is that it won’t be just a regular flagship SUV bigger than the GV80. It will also be one of the company’s first all-electric models, which will offer the ultimate performance and zero emissions at the same time. Other than that, we count on a stylish design, which will have a lot of things in common with the G90 sedan.
2024 Genesis GV90 Design
As we’ve just mentioned, the 2024 Genesis GV90 will have a lot of things in common with the G90. This particularly refers to aesthetics, as the two models are about to share a lot of design solutions. Naturally, the most similar will be the front end, which will feature the same headlights and face. Still, some rendering photos show a little bit different grille design, more prominent and with additional lighting, which accentuates the model’s all-electric nature.
On the other hand, the mechanical aspect of the vehicle will be notably different, starting from the platform. This model will ride on the E-GMP platform, the same one that’s used for the Kia EV9 and Hyundai Ioniq 7. The new SUV will feature 126 inches in wheelbase, which means that you may expect gigantic dimensions and plenty of space on the inside.
Interior
As we’ve just mentioned, the 2024 Genesis GV90 will feature 126 inches in wheelbase, which is something that guarantees plenty of space on the inside. This will be the brand’s first-ever three-row crossover and considering the expected size, we are pretty sure that all three rows will be very generous with space. The cargo area should also offer some respectable numbers. Considering that the battery will be positioned under the floor, we are pretty sure that the interior space won’t be compromised in any way.
When it comes to aesthetics, we expect that the G90 sedan will serve as inspiration a lot. We count on a similar dashboard design, though there could be some differences as well. Simply, the GV90 would come with a portion of exclusive details and among them, we expect to see a unique instrument cluster design, adapted to the model’s all-electric nature.
2024 Genesis GV90 Powertrain and Battery
As we’ve just mentioned, the 2024 Genesis GV90 will be an all-electric crossover. At this point, we still don’t know the exact details regarding the max output but the latest reports suggest a couple of configurations on offer. We presume that base versions would come with rear-wheel drive, while higher trims would feature more capable setups, with electric motors on both axles.
While the power figures are still a mystery, details about the battery seem like a certain thing. While we still don’t know the exact capacity, it is expected that the max range will go around 300 miles. Another thing we know about this SUV is that it will feature a pretty impressive 350-kW charging capability. With such an impressive charging speed, we presume that charging from 10 to 80 percent of the battery will take between 20 and 30 minutes.
2024 Genesis GV90 Release Date
We expect that the 2024 Genesis GV90 will hit the market sometime in the second half of 2023.
