2024 Toyota Venza: Refresh, Changes, PHEV, Price

The Venza nameplate was reintroduced to the North American market in 2021, after several years of break. It comes in a little bit different package now, slotted below the Highlander, as a fancy-looking coupe crossover that may not be the most practical SUV on the market but it definitely has a lot of things to offer. The 2024 Toyota Venza will represent the fourth production year of the generation, so some sources speculate about the possible updates. Some of them suggest visual updates, while others speculate about the new powertrain. However, the officials are still quiet.

In any case, we don’t believe that the potential updates could cause any major change. The overall design would remain the same, with familiar pros and cons. We like Venza’s upscale interior very much, as well as the stylish exterior. Furthermore, the ride quality is pretty impressive, while the hybrid powertrain offers excellent fuel economy.

Despite the potential updates, we don’t believe that the 2024 Toyota Venza could arrive much earlier than usual, so we presume it will hit the market sometime in the last quarter of the year.

2024 Toyota Venza Design

As we’ve just mentioned, some sources suggest that the 2024 Toyota Venza might get a mid-cycle refresh. At this point, the officials are still quiet but if the Japanese manufacturer is willing to offer some updates, we presume that the styling changes would be pretty modest. Simply, the current model already looks pretty good, with its sleek profile and elegant coupe-like layout. The eventual changes would mostly affect the front end, though this area also looks pretty nice already.

In terms of mechancis, we don’t expect to see any changes. This SUV shares most of the parts with the Lexus NX and, therefore, it offers similar ride quality, which feels very balanced. The ride with this SUV is smooth and comfortable but, at the same time, there is almost no body lean in corners and the steering feels quite responsive.

Interior

This is arguably one of the biggest strengths of the current Venza. Simply, Toyota designers put a lot of effort into designing this cabin, so you can notice a lot of attention to detail. Moreover, the company uses pretty nice materials in this model, notably finer compared to, let’s say, RAV4. The cabin feels pretty upscale, while the sound insulation is very good. Also, there is a pretty generous offer of tech features, which make this interior look even nicer.

The front seats are well-shaped and offer good side support, along with good overall comfort. Also, the driving position is very good, thanks to a lot of adjustability options. Furthermore, the second row is also very generous with legroom, though taller passengers may feel some trouble with headroom, due to the sloping roof. For the same reason, the cargo area isn’t particularly generous – you may count on about 28.8 cubic feet of space behind its rear seats and 55.1 cubic feet of the total cargo volume.

Features

We don’t believe that the 2024 Toyota Venza could bring too many changes but minor novelties are always possible in this aspect. Most things should remain the same as in the current model, which comes standard with goodies like an 8-inch touch screen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, navigation, wireless device charging, a Wi-Fi hot spot, the ”Hey Toyota” virtual assistant, Bluetooth, five USB ports, a six-speaker stereo, HD Radio and satellite radio, a 7-inch digital gauge cluster, proximity keyless entry, push-button start, dual-zone automatic climate control and ambient lighting.

Among available upgrades, you can get a 12.3-inch touch screen, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a nine-speaker stereo and a panoramic moonroof.

When it comes to safety features, base models should come standard with a rearview camera, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning, forward collision warning, pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, traffic-sign recognition, automatic high beams etc.

2024 Toyota Venza Powertrain

The current model comes with a single powertrain option, a familiar hybrid system that combines two electric motors with a 2.5-liter inline-four. The max output goes around 219 horsepower and the system comes coupled with a CVT. The overall performance is decent enough, while we particularly like the fuel economy, which goes around 40 mpg in the city and 37 mpg on the highway.

Some sources speculate about the new powertrain options for the 2024 Toyota Venza. Allegedly, we could see a plug-in hybrid setup, with the same setup as in the RAV4 prime, with a max output of over 300 horsepower and more than 40 miles of the all-electric range. The officials are still quiet on this matter.
