Most likely, the all-new model will arrive sometime in 2024, as the 2025 model year, which clearly indicates that the 2024 Ford Expedition will represent the final production year of the current generation.
Therefore, we don’t expect to see significant changes. Instead, we expect to see familiar designs and features. This SUV has a lot of great things to offer, starting from the spacious and well-equipped cabin, capable V6 engine and good ride quality. However, there are also a few limitation factors, such as the cargo area, which is smaller compared to rivals.

2024 Ford Expedition Design
As we’ve just mentioned, the 2024 Ford Expedition will arrive without more important changes. We are about to see the same overall design, which has been around since 2018 and was refreshed for 2022. That model brought new styling, so we presume that the 2024 Ford Expedition will carry on in the same way. Besides attractive styling, we like the Expedition’s composed handling, as well as the fact that maneuverability is surprisingly good, despite the model’s dimensions.
As a body-on-frame SUV, the Expedition also offers reasonable off-road potential. Base models feature 10 inches of ground clearance, while four-wheel drive is optional and also brings additional drive modes and hill descent control. When it comes to cargo space, the standard version is good for about 20.9 cubic feet of space behind the third row, up to 63.6 cubic feet behind the second row and 104.6 cubic feet in total. The long-wheelbase version, the Expedition Max offers 36 cubic feet of room behind the third row, up to 79.6 cubic feet behind the second row and 121.5 cubic feet of the overall cargo volume. Rivals like Chevy Tahoe and Suburban are more impressive in this aspect.
Features
As we are talking about the final production year, we presume that there will be no significant changes in terms of standard and available equipment. The current model already stands pretty well. It comes standard with goodies like a 12-inch touch screen, a Wi-Fi hotspot, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a six-speaker stereo, four USB ports and voice recognition. Base models also come standard with an 8-inch digital instrument cluster display, tri-zone automatic climate control and a universal garage door opener.
Among available features, some of the first things that come to mind are goodies like a 15.5-inch touch screen, a 12- or 22-speaker Bang & Olufsen stereo, satellite radio, a dual-screen rear-seat entertainment system, two third-row USB ports, navigation, wireless device charging and HD Radio. Also, you can get upgrades like a 12.4-inch fully digital instrument cluster, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, proximity keyless entry, a panoramic roof, a household-style power outlet, remote start and ambient interior lighting.
2024 Ford Expedition Engine
All variants of the 2024 Ford Expedition will continue with a familiar 3.5-liter turbocharged V6, which is offered in three output versions. Base models are good for 380 horsepower, while most trims feature a 400-horsepower version. Finally, there is the most capable 440-horsepower version of the engine.
All engines come coupled with a 10-speed automatic transmission, which works pretty well. The max towing capacity goes up to 9.300 pounds, which is also a very good result for the class.
As for the fuel economy, you can get up to 17 mpg in the city and 23 mpg on the highway in certain versions, which is very good for the class.
